FBLA-PBL and Lead4Change Student Leadership Program partner to provide leadership curriculum to middle and high school students aligned with National Standards
Reston, Va. – The Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, Inc. (FBLA-PBL), the premier student business organization, today announced its renewed agreement with the Lead4Change Student Leadership Program. The partnership will offer free, leadership curriculum with a framework for community service to business teachers and students at the middle school and high school levels of FBLA.
“Student leaders emerged during this time of distance learning to make big things happen for their community. It was powerful to see how students continued to complete the online Lead4Change lessons and apply their leadership skills to a real need within their community.” said David Novak. “We hope this experience sparks a passion in students and helps them see they are true leaders who can positively impact the world.”
Lead4Change lessons teach leadership through service where students learn to take action on a need in their school or community. A 2019 independent yearlong national study commissioned by Lead4Change found that students who completed the Lead4Change leadership program experienced tagible growth in leadership (60% improvement) respect for others (54%), ambition and innovation (53%) and more. In addition, middle level and high school students can enter the Lead4Change Leadership Challenge to win up $10,000 for their non-profit orginization or school.
In signing the agreement, FBLA-PBL’s President & CEO Alexander T. Graham stated, “FBLA-PBL students aspire to grow, serve, and lead in their local communities as they become our nation’s future business leaders. There is no better partner than Lead4Change for our students to transform that aspiration into action.”
FBLA-PBL and Lead4Change have been working together for more than five years. The program has celebrated student teams as they win thousands of dollars in grant funds to support community service projects locally. Together, FBLA-PBL and Lead4Change are committed to FBLA-PBL’s mission of inspiring and preparing community minded-business leaders.
