High School, 8 students
Toledo, Ohio
Students across the country are stepping up to solve real challenges in their communities. At the Aerospace and Natural Science Academy of Toledo, a team of students saw a need and took action—demonstrating the power of creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork. Their project, ANSAT Power Rangers, is a testament to what’s possible when young leaders take charge.
The Need:
A group of students recognized the lack of a centralized, accessible hub for important student resources in their school. In response, they set a goal to create a Student Resource Board—a single location where all students could access information about college and career planning, job opportunities, and social-emotional wellness before March. Their vision was to equip their peers with the tools and knowledge needed to confidently navigate life after high school.
The Project:
To bring their idea to life, students reached out to family and friends to gather materials to build the display board. They collaborated with school faculty to research and compile relevant resources, turning that information into printouts organized by category: scholarships, job listings, college application tips, mental health tools, and more. To assess the board’s effectiveness, they created a digital response form for students to provide feedback and share whether the board helped them identify where to find support. The board was intentionally placed in a high-traffic area—easy to see without disrupting hallway flow—ensuring maximum visibility and accessibility.
The Results:
In a post-project evaluation, students reported that approximately 80% of their peers now knew where to find key resources for their future success. They also discovered that while the board was useful, a more dynamic and visually engaging format could improve its impact even further. To support that next step, Lead4Change fulfilled a $1,895.99 grant request to purchase a TV display, mounting equipment, and a Canva subscription. These tools will allow the team to convert the original board into a digital resource hub, with rotating slides and visually appealing designs that continue to equip students for career and college readiness beyond high school.
